Mr. Md. Abdur Razzaque, LL.M, ACS, serves as the Assistant Managing Director & Company Secretary and Head of Human Resources & Administration of South Asia Insurance Company Limited. He is a distinguished governance professional with extensive expertise in corporate governance, secretarial practices, regulatory compliance, and organizational leadership. Through his strong commitment to fiduciary responsibility, ethical leadership, and transparency, he has played a vital role in strengthening governance frameworks and fostering a culture of accountability within organizations.
A qualified Chartered Secretary, Mr. Razzaque is an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Bangladesh (ICSB). He completed his Chartered Accountancy Articleship (CA-CC) under M/s. Ahmed Mashuque & Co. and successfully passed the Knowledge Level examination of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB). He is also a Certified General Accountant (CGA) and a member of the Institute of Chartered General Accountants of Bangladesh (ICGAB).
Mr. Razzaque possesses a strong and diverse academic background. His qualifications include a Master of Laws (LL.M), an MBA in Finance & Banking, Master’s degrees in Accounting and Management, a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B), a Diploma in Computer Science and Application (DCSA), and a Basic Certificate in Insurance. He has also been awarded the Associateship of the Bangladesh Insurance Academy (BIA). Furthermore, he is an Income Tax Practitioner (ITP) and a member of the Dhaka Taxes Bar Association, reflecting his professional competence in taxation, legal affairs, and fiscal management.
With more than thirteen years of professional experience, Mr. Razzaque has developed extensive expertise in Corporate Governance, Company Secretarial Affairs, Corporate and Commercial Laws, Civil and Criminal Legal Matters, Direct and Indirect Taxation, Finance & Accounts, and Human Resources & Administration. His comprehensive knowledge, strategic insight, and unwavering commitment to integrity have earned him a strong reputation as a trusted corporate leader and governance expert.
Throughout his professional career, he has served in several renowned national and multinational organizations, including Islami Insurance Bangladesh Limited, MetLife ALICO (American Life Insurance Company Limited), Bashundhara Steel Complex Limited, Pidilite Specialty Chemicals (BD) Limited (Fevicol), and Arctic Biscuits Limited, a subsidiary of Parle Biscuits.
Mr. Razzaque has actively participated in numerous professional development programs, training courses, seminars, and workshops. Notable among these are the Sustainability Management Course conducted by BIM, the Certified Insurance Professional (CIP) Course organized by BIPD, and the Motor Insurance Underwriting and Claim Management Course offered by BIA. He has also attended specialized workshops on Immigration Law, Corporate Governance Guidelines issued by IDRA, Statutory Reporting and RJSC Return Filing, Claims Management, and Reinsurance Management.
