South Asia Insurance Company Limited is one of the pioneers in non-life insurance Companies in Bangladesh and was incorporated as public limited company on 21st December, 1999 under the company Act. 1994 and obtained registration from the former Chief Controller of Insurance, Govt. of the people`s Republic of Bangladesh on December 29, 1999. South Asia Insurance Company Limited obtained renewal of registration from the Insurance Development & Regulatory Authority (IDRA) from 2012.

The company has necessary re-insurance cover from Sadharan Bima Corporation (SBC) for all its products.
